This forum is an online support resource for people in or recovering from a relationship with someone who has narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) or borderline personality disorder (BPD). This is not a support forum for people diagnosed with the disorder. By relationship, we mean someone who has a partner, parent, child, co-worker, friend, sibling, etc. with NPD/BPD. And it can be a past or current relationship. Dealing with NPD/BPD can make YOU feel crazy -- you are not alone. To register for the Discussion Forum, click the button on the menu. It's free! We are still adding content and tinkering with the "look" of the site, but the Discussion Forum is open. Registration required (free). This is to help keep spammers out. |

Am I crazy? One of the most common questions asked by partners of people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is, "Are they right -- am I the one with the problem?" NO. You are NOT the one with the problem. That's not to say you don't have your own issues, but when you are in a relationship with a person with NPD, it really makes you doubt your sanity after a while. They are masters at manipulation, experts at emotional extortion. |

Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a diagnosis that still raises controversy in mental health circles. While everyone has some narcissistic traits to a minor degree (and sometimes we need them for survival), a person with NPD takes this to an unhealthy and even pathological level. There are different types of NPD. It is also possible for people to have narcissistic traits but not be full-blown NPD. |
